Based in London’s Hatton Garden is the main shareholder/ investor in the Group of Companies.

The company was founded in 1985 to service the local jewellery market in Hatton Garden but has subsequently grown to offer refining services using all of the Groups plants to a wide range of industries.

Mastermelt has two divisions, jewellery and industrial which are headed by Gary Williams and Steve Gaylor respectively. The refining of jewellery scrap and manufacturing residues is a major activity at the Hatton Garden site. The London site is also the centre for the Groups administration and European industrial sales force.

The Group has built up an reputation as a financially solid organisation who can handle many different types of materials ranging from jewellery to catalyst residues.

The Group has a very high reputation in all its sectors which has led to it being the refiner of choice to many multinational blue chip companies and being accepted as a member of international organisations involved in the precious metal industry.

With the constant drive by companies to minimise the amount of precious metals used in products the Mastermelt Group see an every increasing diverse source of new recycling streams.

We work together with our customers to identify new technologies or processes to recover the precious metals. Our operations at Buxton and Tennessee both have novel technologies to treat new manufacturing waste streams which have led to us becoming market leaders in these areas.
