Generally used to reinforce and add stability to tall structures, guy strand consists of high-grade, galvanized steel woven into a 7-wire strand. Reinforcing everything from radio towers to wind turbines, this strand is available in a variety of diameters and is classified in one of five strengths (as shown below). Because guy strand is typically exposed to the elements in its various uses, it is coated with zinc to protect against corrosion. At it strongest specifications, guy strand is able to reinforce some of the tallest structures on earth.
