S31254 is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloyed with high molybdenum, used under the chloride environment. This material grade owns the following characteristic:
● Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
● Very good resistance to stress corrosion cracking
● High resistance to general corrosion
● Higher mechanical strength
● Good weldability
S31254 has the high mechanical strength and good general corrosion resistance. Besides, it also owns the excellent corrosion resistance to the chloride, which can make it used as a very suitable material under seawater working environment.
This material could be used under the following conditions:
Tube used in the equipment for handing of seawater
Tube used in the hydraulic equipment
Tube used in the chemical device with high halide content
Tube used as component in the gas cleaning system
