Spherical roller bearings
The inner ring of spherical roller bearings have two raceways,outer raceway is a part of a sphere,whose curvature center is on the axis of bearings,this type of bearings possesses self-alingning performance,allowing the misalignment of shaft,and can also be used under certain permanent misalignment.
These bearings are able to carry higher radial loads,as well as certain axial loads,but can't be used to carry pure axial loads,the osculation between rollers and raceways is high,and friction is higher than cylindrical roller bearing,therefore,the limiting speed is lower.
This type of bearings is especially suitable to the heavy or vibrating load applications.
Spherical roller bearings are primarily used in the applications,such as rolling mills,paper-making,power transmitting equipments and ship mechanics,etc.
